Bree Walker Makes History with Gold Medal Season Finale

In a monumental moment for Australian bobsleigh, Bree Walker clinched the nation's first-ever World Cup gold medal in the women's monobob event at Lake Placid. With a record-breaking first run, she capped off an unforgettable winter season.

Throughout the winter season, Walker's performances were nothing short of impressive, with podium finishes including notable results of 5th places, 4th places, 2 bronzes, 2 silvers and a gold! Her historic win not only added to her medal tally but also left an enduring mark on the track that will host next year's World Championships.

"It feels amazing; to come away with a win is the best possible way I could end the monobob season, I am so happy."

In the 2-woman competitions, Walker teamed up with Kiara Reddingius for their first full winter season together. Both athletes were thrilled following last months World Championship results in Germany and ready to build on their performances further. The camaraderie between the pair was evident as they celebrated together at the bottom of the track.

As the season wraps up, Walker's remarkable accomplishments have earned her a 6th place ranking in the 2-woman world standings and a 2nd place ranking in the monobob category, Walker's performance has made history and secured her first-ever crystal globe.
